In need of mixdown advice!!
« on: January 19, 2016, 04:29:54 pm »
Heey TPF!

I just finished a bootleg of Disarm You by Kaskade. I like the way it turned out, but I feel there's something missing in the mixdown.. I think I've heard it to many times to say what, so I really hope you guys can give me some advice! :)

Thanks in advance <3

Is it bass? See if it sounds better with something going on around 150-300 Hz in the drop. Some white noise to round out the >7k range wouldn't hurt either.

I agree with Wontolla about the bass -- it's lacking low end for sure.  As for the overall mix.. Hard to critique the rest of it until you beef up the lower freqs.

Otherwise, very cool! I haven't heard the original, so I can't tell what's you and what's Kaskade -- but either way I like it.  :)

I just used the vocal, not a big fan of the original, but I found that the vocal was sounding good.. Hearing it back now after a couple of days, part of the low ends are indeed missing. I've cut quite some frequenties around the 300hz because it sounded muddy so that may be the problem. I'm gonna leave it for a few more days, and then get back into it. Thanks for the advice guys!
