NGHTMRE x Boombox Cartel - Aftershock (Remix)
« on: January 18, 2016, 01:38:11 am »
Hey guys! I was wondering if you all could post some feedback about this remix I did a while ago. Personally I think it's pretty OK, but I'd like some other opinions to help future songs improve. Any criticism is fine! Thank you!

First off, slow BPM down a little bit, its too fast (at least for me)

second, 0:37 - 0:54 has too much going on, and with the track too fast it really ruins the atmosphere.

Thats about it really.  not bad...

The reverb really muddies the mix - I'd definitely cut down on that. Perhaps that would help with the speed issues too, because arrangement-wise there's nothing really wrong with the speed of the song for me, but with all the reverb and things going on it's probably difficult to hear what's happening without knowing the original well.

-What is that pluck preset? Really enjoying that.
-What did you do at :40? That was a confusing transition. I hear it a bit on the chorus too. Are those glitch or reversed chords?
-Agreed with the others, the verbs a bit much. I'd suggest putting the reverb on a send and sidechaining it to the bass midi/audio so that the reverb only comes in after the midi/audio is finished.
