Future bass wip
« on: January 17, 2016, 09:06:40 pm »
been working on a track for a while, in the future bass genre (which is new too me), and i would appreciate some feedback :) don´t be afraid to be harsh.
there are a few things missing, a small part where there will be some sort of vocals. just haven´t figured that one out yet.

Pretty good start man. Just switch up the melody and stuff and you could be the next wave racer! I would say a few things need a little more reverb or delays whichever you fancy.

thanks for the feedback man!:)

Working on variation with the melody is something i definitely will do, it get´s kinda repetitive i suppose.
not totally sure what to do though...

This gives me like a anime/ Japanese vibe HAHAHAH. Anyways, it's really hard to distinguish a drop in this.

You can add additional layers by means of send effects. Delays or the occasional sustained reverbs. You can also make it less repetitive with additional percussion samples and drum rolls. Certainly off to a good start though.

Funny you mentioned that, because that´s exactly what i´m going for! hahahaha! i actually have a few samples form an anime show i plan on using!
Please elaborate, do you mean like it´s not "heavy" enough? or is it composition wise?

arvellan_design:
Great tip! will definitely work out something like that!

Yeah, like it's not like heavy enough. It just feels like you build up, and then go to another pre drop. You get me?

I'm surprised nobody has told you to add a bass layer to the supersaw. You are completely missing that frequency range, and the song sounds really thin without it. Good luck!

Really cool idea, just adding to the feedback above: More variation, maybe even an arp in the back of the mix and a nice chunky bass to layer with your sub in the corresponding areas and i think you'll have some decent stuff here! Also i found your vocal samples to be a bit empty. Maybe add a delay or more verb with some nice percussion and hits to help fill the empty spaces? ;)
