Getting some trancy vibes off this. I like it! Reminds of Meet Me in Montauk by Signalrunners

I like the sounds you're using, and good choice for the kick. The birds at around 2:14 are excellent. I really like that break down part (mainly what reminds me of the track I linked). The little fade away at 3:15 is great too. I do think the climax at around 2:58 could be a bit stronger though, mainly because of that saw synth. I think it's a bit too weak to be the main focus of the climax. It's not bad, I just think it could be a little bit stronger. Maybe a little bit more stereo presence in the high end could do it.

Your transitions are great, the song flows nicely. The melodies and harmonies aren't awkward, though a bit simple. But, I guess they don't have to be all that complex. Good stuff, keep doing what you're doing :P

Thanks!  It's great to get some feedback. It's definitely halfway between trance and prog house -- I was aiming at trance originally, but I ended up with that percussive melody at the beginning that isn't really trancy, and I liked the tempo better at 129 than 134.

I was going for simple with the melodies, I've been doing that lately because my melodies used to be "so complex nobody could follow them."  Appreciate the feedback on the lead synth, I agree and I'll see what I can do with it.

Thanks again!

No problem! And yeah house and trance are becoming increasingly difficult to tell apart lately. It's great to see influences from both sides though.

Good luck!

I like the hihats right in the beginning of the track, I guess it's because of the reverb, the track gives a feeling of depth/space immediately.

In fact everything sounds crystal clear, the mixing is awesome.

The arrangement is as it should be; the diversion between percusiion, chords, lead keeps the track interesting.

This track is thought out and mixed so well, nice 'warm' bassline. I just don't know what to write about improving because it's perfect as it is.

Tracks like these are my reference tracks for mixing/mastering, the perfect sound I'm aiming for. What a great job!

sounds well developed

some cheeky notes in the melodies are very welcomed

synth game could be stronger, the lead with heavy reverb could be replaced

drum fills could use work, not necessarily the hat fills with phrases but in terms of the functionality of bridging between sections there could be a cool fill (like the one at 3.44 i guess, only one i skimmed over and thought was strange)

i don't really listen to this type of music

listened to this on my laptop speakers

Thanks mandator and zacktaylor for the feedback!

I'm glad the mixing worked, this track was really one I made to learn mixing better.

Zach: agreed on that reverby saw lead, it's the weak point for sure.

I'm doing one more mixdown, I've added some subtle FX and improved the sub bass a bit. I'll see if I can do anything for that lead sound while I'm at it...

Groove here is fantastic from the beginning and like Sleepy said all your transitions are really good especially with the really small details in where the percussion is. Hats could stand out a bit more though.

Your melodies are absolutely fine in this song. Really like how simple they are.

Hey man!

Sounds as profession material! I like the delay and reverb effects in the kick, claps etc... that made this track very open and wide. @1:13 the main chords surprised me a bit, but positive off course. @3:00 it become's very old school with those synths.

All by all it's a nice track, keep up the good work!  ;)

Love the way you built up the track with the plucks.

Feel like the drums should not come all the way out at 0:46 and that hall kick sounds a little weak. If it was my song I would make the build-up longer and even more dramatic.

I kind of hate the lead you bring in at 1:15.

Lead at 2:50ish is very weak. Should be brought up a couple decibels and stereo-widened, perhaps with a touch of delay and reverb to make it really "ring" through the space of your song. I use the free plugin UpStereo on all of my lead sounds.

The drums are kinda march-y. Like very up-down up-down. If it was my track I would make them swing a little more. The plucks had a really nice groove in the beginning and then the drums come in kind of doofy and undercuts what you had going.

Overall this song started out promising and did not fulfill the expectations I had for it from the first excellent 45 seconds. It sounds like you are playing with too many ideas-- the song needs a "hook" or standout riff or synth patch. Think about somebody walking up to a DJ in the club and asking them to request your song, but they don't know the name of it, they've just heard it in other people's sets. "Do you have that song that goes, 'dum, dum dum, dumdum dum dum?" Even if this became a Beatport Top 100 song I'm not sure the DJ would know what the requester is talking about. I really think you need to do some editing and figure out what the stand-out element of your song is/should be and re-build the track around that element. Choose one.

hey man, I think my main issue with this song is that it kinda sounds unfinished. don't get me wrong, its not bad at all, but I think it just sounds very bare to me. it might be because I don't really listen to this type of music, but it doesn't really grab my attention. really good mix tho! and I do think the plucks could use some more stereo info
