OO was a huge fan of the Mr Wonderful Lp. I myself listen to almost everything. Big hip hop fan. Alternative, like Colony House, Mumford and Sons, Ben Howard, Vance Joy, etc. Huge fan of a lot of classic rock: Pink Floyd, Beetles, Red Hot Chili Peppers. My favorite band out there would have to be the Killers. Hot Fuss was about my favorite album of all time next to Graduation by Kanye.
But yeah but about everything as long as its good music.

Like a surprising number of other producers, I mostly listened to metal before getting into EDM. I try to look for good stuff in any genre though. There's been some good stuff on top 40 radio in the last couple of years, maybe that's next?

Some random tracks:
Skyharbor - Order 66 (heavy midtempo stuff with poppy vocals): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OjMrjTA7Ai4
The Tea Party - The Bazaar ("Morroccan Roll"): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JCye7v79Tz0
Of Monsters and Men - King and Lionheart (shameless indie pop): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A76a_LNIYwE
First Aid Kit - Emmylou (classic country, but Swedish): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PC57z-oDPLs

And this one's for the guy that said Bathory: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KRpeofMHaG4

Strangely enough, I don't even listen to 'EDM' much anymore. For the past year or two, I've been listening to alternative rock, jazz, swing, cinematic, electronic mixtures of all those, and classic house. There was a time when I listened to the music I make, like electro, glitch-hop, etc. I've strayed away from it.

Plenty of "contemporary" classical stuff. Which is a pretty large umbrella to be honest. Let me share a few things I think are easy enough for anyone to enjoy -- stuff that is weird with some catchiness.

caroline shaw - Allemande (partita for 8 voices) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mukrVsKqTs&list=PLqdFJzgdyvWnzexNx9L4lqY33tHGzt1gg
joel love - synchronicity in purple minor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OKSKQ-Jhm4
oh and less catchy but super psyched to fuck
gerard grisey - partials https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqzukP_BtW8

Hi!
I am producing electronic music and I listen to a fair amount of electronic music too. I also like Alternative-Pop (don't even know if this is the correct genre name but hey those are just labels that should help to categorize the music) like Alt-J, some Hip-Hop, and Pop (I like acoustic stuff like Tom Odell, he is a great singer).

And then I have those phases where I go exploring for hours and find the weirdest stuff... Or right know I am listening to some Tschaikowsky. Makes me think about how music theory can be really useful in electronic music too. Those composers in classical music had to think about sound design also, they only had a more limited set of possibilities...

In my opinion being open for other music is extremely beneficial, a lot of thoughts and ideas are coming into my mind during these phases...

Grew up as a band geek and theater nerd, so Cab Calloway has always been that "gray" area, straddling the lines of fantastic jazz and the showmanship of theater. You might have seen him in Blues Brothers singing Minnie the Moocher, but when I think of Cab Calloway I think either "Everybody Eats When They Come to My House" or this one...

I grew up playing jazz trombone at a young age and played all through schooling, so jazz was (and still is to an extent) the soundtrack of the majority of my life with a few streaks of classic rock and punk rock (Adicts, Lower Class Brats, Exploited, Blanks 77, Crass, etc.)

A lot actually.
There was a little Ed Sheeran addiction happening last year resulting in listening to quite a few acoustic-ish folkpop-ish stuff. (Ryan Keen, Jack Johnson, Jeremy Loops, lately some old Texas stuff...)
Then I got really a lot into that independent thoughtful hip hop scene. (Dylan Owen - love this guy so much, Witt Lowry, George Watsky, Kinetics & OL)
...and recently, I love those new indie artists like Jack Garrat or Frences (<3 !!! that voice!)

+ love for soundtracks. Jablonsky, Powell, Zimmer, Williams, Price...
"Earth is round right? Look at it from right angle and you'll be always on top of the world."
...but don't overdo it, because that's called being a d***k.

I'm a fan of a few indie-rock bands; Coldplay, Two Door Cinema Club and Fenech-Soler spring to mind :)

I listen to a lot of pop and hip hop, or I'll go nostalgia digging for all my post-hardcore records from high school. Working on expanding my collection just to experience the different genres that are out there.
