First time using original vocals!
« on: January 13, 2016, 07:11:48 am »
My gf is a singer and I finally recorded her and myself for my newest original track. Lyircs arent anything special but Im super excited with how the vocals turned out, especially after the pitch effects!

lemme know watcha think! Oh and Id love some thoughts on how to transition at 0:31, nothing I make seems to fit so I just left it empty on this version.

Heya,

So, first of, the intro with the panning thing, it's not a good idea. Or, well it is a good idea if you let something in the middle so there's no blank in the left or right ear. Although, if you had a pad in the middle (With no panning), it will be nice.

So, vocals sounds nice, i'll have put a bit more reverb on it but it's nice so far.

Drop make me think of flume. ;) Percs, drums are nice. Haven't much to say. Need some work to finish it but it has potential ;)

Couple of comments:

Vocals in intro are cool, just make them louder in the mixdown.

I didn't really find the pitched-down male vocals convincing. The pitch correction (?) in combination with the quiet voice makes it sound like an insecure singer. It is also hard to hear the lyrics, which may be a problem with articulation or just due to the processing.

For the transition, just a random idea off the top of my head: fade in a sustained chord with the strings?
