Melodic/Future House Snippet
« on: January 13, 2016, 06:08:17 am »
I'm still in the early stages of this piece, so I only have the intro/build/8 bars of the drop so far, but I wanted to get some feedback on this. What could I do to make the drop go harder? Getting some kind of snare/drum fill in the empty bar that I have between the end of the rise and the beginning of the drop would be useful, but I haven't had any success with that.

Fairly new to music production in general, so overall production tips are also welcome. :)

I think the sidechaining is too heavy but the kick itself doesn't have enough impact. Try playing around with compression and/or layering on the kick (check one of the other subforums for advice on that). Layering that synth on the drop (or in general) will probably help with impact as well. I like the chords and melody ftr.
