Crossing Paths [Future Bass WIP] | Keep or Trash?
« on: January 13, 2016, 04:11:37 am »
This is something I started over a year ago to start off the 2015, but I just never bothered actually finishing it.  I've gotten some feedback from a friend, and he told me that I should trash it because the melody doesn't fit well.  So, I'd just like some advice before getting rid of the project altogether.

That last chord in the loop is a bit odd, and the progression from the previous chord(s) doesn't seem very natural. Apart from that, melodically speaking I quite like this. I wouldn't trash it, but it might be worth coming back to it once you're more confident about what chord progressions work or don't.

Nice job dude, the percussion really highlights the tracks movement. What're you doing with the percussion to get that downward pitching snares?

Also where do you get that "hey" sample from, I hear it everywhere.

I think your chord progression at the drop might be too complex or stretched. What if you simplified it?

If you wanted to keep the chord progression maybe adding more of a closing chord to end it.

Thanks, for the feedback.  I just automated the pitch on the snares so I could edit it easily if I need to.  It's quite an easy thing to do in FL Studio.  As for the "hey" sample, I found it a really long time ago, so if you want it, I can probably just send it to you privately.  With the chords, I'll take a look into that and try to work out the kinks and possibly simplify it.  I haven't really touched the project for a long time and that's one of the only things that has remained constant from the beginning of it all.
