I done goofed
« on: January 13, 2016, 12:17:34 am »
So in order to bring my cpu down, I converted my lead to an audio file, but accidently deleted my midi notes and saved it.

---Is there anyway I could get those midi notes back?!

Depends on your DAW. If you're using something like FL studio and have autosaved enabled, you can find an earlier autosave from before your bounce and go save a copy of the midi notes from there. If you're in ableton, you can right click on the bounced audio and select "Convert Melody to New MIDI track."

Here's an example of how well the algorithm processes the information: https://clyp.it/cyi5r4l4

Example A about why you should be versioning and why you always make a new project when bouncing to audio. You can always go back.

If you're on Cubase change the file type you search for when opening projects to .BAK.

If you're in Ableton and all other methods failed, you can use that melody->notes function. Youľl need to do some cleaning though, especially if you bounced it with delay or/and reverb on.
