As some of you may know, there was a recent contest sponsored by Monstercat for "Deeper Love" by Botnek & I See Monstas. This is my submission, however it's far from what I would consider "finished". Any feedback on what I could add or improve (or what to keep) would be greatly appreciated! I'll provide my contest submission link below for those who feel compelled to support a fellow producer and vote for me. For the rest of you, you can listen to the track on SoundCloud below.

Cheers!
~TJ Willson

Really like how this track feels. Sorta get a theatrical vibe from the intro which I dig. When the lead pluck comes in (I can't tell what instrument that is so I could be wrong on the classification) it sounds a bit filtered or muffled, maybe try and EQ out some of the lows to clean up the mix and make the lead sound more lively.. I like where it's going!

I like what you got so far, but the mix/master definitely needs work. Your drums are very muddy. You snare is not very bright at all either, and sound too boomy. Snaretoms like that usually fit best in buildups. Also your hihats need work. Remember, DNB is all about shuffle, not just the amen kick/snare structure. Without it your drums feel flat. Layer your hats and make sure they are in 16ths. Try layering a break as well, it will really add a lot more meat to the percussion. Google  how to add a shuffle, which you can either do with hats or a soft snare. Of course experiment, but I think for DNB hats are one of the most important things in your percussion.
