Techno ID6 WIP

6 hours into this and decided to give my ears a break. I'm curious what you guys think about the arrangement and what you might add or move around.

It´s very repetitive(duh, it´s techno), same sweeps creating the ambience over and over.  When there´s no sweeps it sounds a bit "empty".  Maybe insert some white noise?  The recurring theme does not come alive in the break, in stead a new theme is entered and crashes with the one that has been going the whole track so far.  This makes the break sound, and feel, badly constructed IMO.  If you can morph them it would make it more solid.  Hope this helps.  Good luck.

Cool sounds, and a nice dark athmosphere to it. The track feels a bit empty, heavy bass but the mids seem a bit neglected. Also the breakdown needs something more (just my opinion). Nice techno sound overall and squecky synth after the breakdown is nice! Just try to master and polish every sound and balance lows, mids and highs.

Good luck! :)

I made a post, that has since disappeared, about how much I like this the way it is. And would even like to hear it extended to 8-10 minutes.

This is great music to study to. I listen to music like this when I do web programming and writing articles.

bass is really lacking. I would suggest adding a mid thats a little wider. The whole track feels like its mono and could use some good ol widening.

Overall my biggest point would just be fleshing out more groove elements of it. It's totally a passable DJ track as it is but I would probably be mixing something over it the whole time. Check out some of these examples that came to mind:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeN4mqwh7is

Just listen to how seemingly minimal yet super fleshed out they sound, I think that's the type of vibe you should be going for with this. 100% needs a snare at some point (I was dying waiting for it to come in lol)

Hope that helps! Great work dude keep it up!

Made a post but it disappeared...was gonna say theres so little mid/high content (especially early on) that it feels like a DJ just forgot to turn the high/mid EQ back to zero or has the filter sweep down.

like those above examples ^ its possible to have mostly low end content but then have a big fat hat to make up for it (and a kick with some mid/high punch)

Odd! I'll fix that.

Here's a new link.

Got the ideas fleshed out but considering rearranging some elements.

The song starts with a groovy drumpattern.

The white noise on 0:46 is a bit 'plain'. Maybe you should add an effect to that, something like a delay, or a reverb to make it longer. I would chose for a pingpong delay to make it more interesting. Just an idea. Something to fill up that break more, it lacks something.

After the break, at 1:00 I expect something more than only the sound that are used before the break, something more exciting. I would move the hihat that comes in @ 1:17 to 1:00. I know the melody is coming in but it comes in slow. Or maybe you should just add another downlifter @ 1:00. Nothing too drastic, I suppose you want to keep it minimal.

The break and drop @ 2 minutes is just perfect!! Techno as it should be.

How about a string like synthpad after the break @ 3:04? Or something white noise based to fill up the spectrum? Just my random thoughts.

Overall I like the track but I guess if it was my arrangement, I would add some tiny little extras to keep the listener more excited.

But the vibe and the feeling the song creates, is great!!
