Hey guys, this is a pretty rough draft but I plan on sending it to a few vocalists friends and I want it to sound pretty damn good before I send it to them. Would love to hear any thoughts you have. It's private so have a link

i love the relaxing bassline, and the first downtempo has a really good effect(i lied, upon second listening i fucking love it!) the midsection could definitely be worked with. maybe adding some arpeggiated bells, make it a tiny bit more interesting or perhaps it will work out when you get the vocals?... great chord progression as well! and your synths/basslines is on point bro!

The intro though... something's not sitting quite right with me there, i feel like it doesn't fit that well to be honest. to clarify, the first 10 seconds is pretty damn nice, and the ambient-ish sound from :45 is good, but there is something in the middle there that doesn't fit all that well to the "vibe"

your beat, i've got nothing to say on that, except it's pretty damn good!

would actually be kinda cool if you worked in some retro samples from old nintendo games or something along that line in the small pauses...

in all, a great start! can't wait to hear the finished result! :D

OMG this is really great! Your track have great potential!

I think you arrangment is already pretty good. The only negative thing I noticed there was the bridge after the first drop. The bridge into the break kinda destroyed the vibe for me.

I can't give you detailed opinion on the mixing, because I listened on bad speakers.^^ But I guess your first drop lacks a bit in energy and you could add some details in your sound there.

Can't wait to hear the finished project.

This is really great, lots of changes, lots to keep you interested. Some really great sound choices and progressions. Make sure you get this finished as I'd like to hear it once it's done!

I'd love to hear an octave added to the intro lead once the bass kicks in :)

I also feel like the chords in the drop feel a bit too buried, definitely gives me a Louis The Child - It's Strange vibe.  I'd use that song as a reference!

This is a really cool idea. However the mix is very muddy, and also some transitions and parts don't really fit or make sense with the song. The intro and breakdown for example, the feel and sound seem like it is a whole different song and interrupts the initial idea. Work on those transitions and themes so the song flows more nicely!

thanks you guys!!! I kind of like switching up styles throughout my tracks but do you think it is detrimental?

Love the drop at 1:07. The way you mix up styles sounds great.

This track has an innocence about it. I wouldn't overwork it.

Great stuff, ELD.

I'd like to hear it superimposed in a larger body of work and hear how it all flows together.

No, it isn't. Quite them opposite as long as it's done in the right way.  The parts should not feel like different tracks and the trasitions should be done right.

I think you did a very nice job in your track.
In my opinion the overall feeling of your break and intro fits with your drops. But like Orno said, the the transitions need to be improved. Expecally the transition after the first drop :)

Was thinking at the first drop, i'd really like too hear that synth with the filter opened up a bit more and then i got it at the second drop xD.

This is amazing work, love how you change up the style continuously. Love everything about this track, followed to keep an eye out for the finished version.

Reminds me of something I would hear on a spazzkid ep.

Something about the mix from the intro to about 0:00-0:11 sounds off to me. Not sure exactly what it is. I'm pretty convinced it has to do with the balance. The chords and bass are a bit quite in comparison to that lead you got going on. I would lower that lead because it's overpowering every other element in the mix by too much. I'm also not to sure what the chord is at 0:07 because its so quiet but I hear some type of dissonance that is unpleasing to my ears.

Starting as 0:11 the lead is still to loud. I like where you're going with the arrangement but I would like to hear a bit more harmony! Don't get me wrong I think the lead motif is quite catchy but I'm just dying to hear some type of chords layered underneath it.

The tempo changes are more of a taste thing. I DO dig that section you have at 1:08. The only thing is I'm not sure whether I enjoy it in context. There might be to many ideas in this track. Hope this helps.

not at all! I think it´s a nice twist to the wholeness of the track, makes it more interesting and less repetitive. But as Arigato and Orno said, the transitions needs some work to make it flow better.

I think everyone else just about hit it on the head. Work on the transition after the first drop, tempo changes are pretty hard to pull off I find but maybe introduce it more minimally? You could probably even speed it up gradually (+ maybe fade it in until the next break). Gotta say I wasnt a fan when you slowed it down in the buildup but in the context of the whole track it makes sense, and it adds more energy to the second drop. I absolutely love the drop I gotta say, its beautiful. How did you make those saws?

Thanks and yeah its something I'm going to work on a little more. I've already gotten a few questions about the saws so here is a quick little thing I did to show.

mid-song tempo transition is fine, but I really think you gotta give it some more time. More specifically, letting that crash ring out and giving your audience a chance to 'reset'. Always try to think about it from the standpoint of someone who's never heard it before. Try making it feel like the ending and the beginning of a new movement. The pause could be a cool spot to drop a vocal acapella part that crashes into the up-tempo version of the song.

Mix improvements are a given, but tighten up that arrangement first! Nice work overall.
