Madeon "Funky Slappy Bass"

As the title already says, does anybody know how how Madeon creates his "funky and slappy" Basses?
I really have no idea how he does it (I'm not producing for too long), and I didn't find any Tutorials on youtube so I'm counting on your help. :)

I can't be sure, but he may have used samples. Native Instruments has a slap bass for Kontakt; that could be a simple/easy place to start
I'm sure it's possible to recreate an accurate slap bass with synthesis, but to model the natural sound completely could be challenging.

I'm pretty sure something like that can be achieved with wavetable synthesis in something like massive but can't think of how off the top of my head. Try playing with the wavetables and putting a performer on the filter maybe? This song has a bass sound that sounds similar to a bass guitar and I know that he is an avid user of massive http://youtu.be/yoZFnkchtv0

just find a good funk library with bass licks.Pick one, chop it up manually.Start with a long, sustained note.Figure out the root note and work from there.Pitch it up or down, depending on your chord changes.Find loop through the lick and find some slapped notes and add those to your sustained notes.

For the song Cut the Kid, I think he had a friend record a bunch of slaps for him  :)

Yeah he mentioned that the bass slide in Finally was recorded for him by a friend as well.
Might be the same guy :)
