remix i'm making of a friend's r&b song

(original is here: https://soundcloud.com/reffmusic/the-times)

as you can hear it's quite unfinished, basically three unrelated songs i'll attempt to jam into one, i'm also waiting on the stems

thoughts? in particular i have no idea what i'm going to use as an introduction and without stems it's hard for me to write a melody since i'll always be going back to the original

really cool composition man, the mix is a little crunched and muddy right now imo, cant tell what exactly it is but it could use a little more sparkle and upper register imo. again awesome composition especially at that section around 1:00 i'd flesh it out to make it a little cleaner that turns into chaotic instead of just pure chaos right from the start. maybe take that synth youre chopping in a clean form and then gate/sidechain it to the cut bits? im not sure how your tracks and busses look haha :P

was definitely planning to smooth that glitchy part out, thanks for reminding me

re: the mix, the majority of this was composed on an airplane using earbuds lmfao, i won't be able to really fix the mix until i get back to my dorm (home for winter break right now). then again my speakers aren't the best so who knows how much that'll help

good idea with the gating into glitch, i'll have to try that

thanks for the feedback dude

Very cool.  Sounds like theres a lot of potential with this one.  like the other commenter said just a few things sound too loud here and there but thats an easy fix.  Good job!
