DJ Snake - Middle (Pluck/Bell)
« on: January 09, 2016, 11:32:44 am »
I was messing around with certain plucks with xylophones to recreate this sound but unfortunately I've been unsuccessful in recreating this sound. If anyone can explain how to make this sound it would be amazing!

The pluck/bell sound I'm talking about occurs at 0:46

Try mixing layers of sharp plucks and working sound on EQ and you're listening to your sound to see if it is equal. Luck  8)

You'd honestly get a better result from recording a sound and playing with it, rather than trying to synthesize it. Something like tapping on a pan or glass with various objects will give you a clean "thunk" noise that you can then layer and EQ to taste.

For the top end use a square wave pluck with long release super high passed, for the middles maybe a triangle and a little bit of sub to avoid to sound "skinny"

Your example sounds like a pretty basic marimba to me...
