Tell them no af. You would basically be paying them to have copyright of your track. If the label isn't big enough to eat that cost then you probably don't want to give them your music.

Assuming you have the processing power for it, is there ever a reason to avoid using a Liner Phase over a standard EQ?

Sounds good man, mix is pretty tight. Only thing that I would say is that the halftime in the second drop doesn't really feel natural, but that could just be me. Also might want to try and add some more atmosphere during the breakdowns.

So many people like to brag about that fact that they have 300+ layers and 400+ hours on a song but it honestly does not matter at all. There shouldn't be limit either way. It took me a while to learn that complexity doesn't equal quality.

There's probably a patch/preset in existence somewhere but I'd rather take a step back from all that and try slapping something together myself.

Sounds like it's just a brass synth with some distortion and maybe some more detuning, also I think it's layered with a guitar.
