I totally feel you on all your top points. Especially when I QC my track against a good pop-tune. Mine falls soooo flat. I'll certainly put effort in trying to craft more of an atmosphere/theme next go-round. Perhaps be a little more original/crafty in my synths, too. Seems that may be a good starting point based on your feedback.
