Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Solid State Drives and Music Production

I want to build a desktop PC (they're cheaper than macs and just as if not more powerful) mainly for making multiple forms of electronic music. Now I know that havin an SSD is not going to improve my music and going to make everything sound better (obviously) but my issue is the laptop I use isn't cutting it speed wise. The function of a solid state is to improve speed with your OS, but whenever I for example open up 3 instances of serum or have all these plugins and samples open on a track it bogs down my computer and I get latency issues. Is it smart to install all my plug-ins and my DAW onto an SSD? Will I be able to run more or will more ram and a better processor suffice?
PS I use FL Studio 12 and I have ASIO4ALL or whate very installed and activated.
