Inspiration/Creativity/Motivation / Re: Working On Music Daily vs. When You're Inspired
« on: January 14, 2016, 11:52:17 pm »For me at least, because I'm so inexperienced I view being in the DAW as studying. sometimes I open and nothing happens and that's okay but now with the forum here I can at least try new techniques and see what they sound like and how to do them. That's how I figured out parallel compression and stuff like that. So forcing yourself to dedicate time is more important I guess. if you don't make music you at least better be learning something new. So I try and work on music very often even if nothing fruitful happens in terms of an actual song as long as I learn something.
Is true, messing around and learning in your DAW of choice is great to improve your skills, but the feeling of inspiration every once in a while should motivate you enough to using those skills and applying them in the area of inspiration you're feeling at that time, through the music.
