Hmm  that's actually pretty interesting! Could you upload a simple audio track with part A and B playing separately and then layered plus the pattern that you mentioned?

As far as I know, its primarily FM. some do use massive (Oliver Heldens) is the first that comes to mind.

This video goes over how to get a bass similar to Dusky's careless using massive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaOo_NvywcI

This one is a little more subdued. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaOo_NvywcI

This is more future house- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaOo_NvywcI

hahah did you just roast house producers??? :D

Surely it's an Lfo routed to the bass with its rate changing
But I would go for a noise gate controled via midi for the overall effect

Hmmm although it might sound easy I ve benn tryin for a while to make that high pitched almost percussive sound from Nicolas Jaar (at the beggining 0:07)
I ve used in massive a high pitched Osc (tried many kinds of waves) with a short attack-decay envelope routed to its pitch, and tried with LP2,Lp4 and also with Hp2 and 4. I also gave it a little tiny Fm. I am pretty close but I can't seem to get it that clear, my sound is more ringy.
ANy ideas?
