Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Re: Headphones or Speakers ?

I'm using the vmoda m100. It's alright in terms of production quality. But it's always better to use studio monitors if you really want it to sound crisp espcially if you plan on playing it in a club or big speakers.

Don't get me wrong. Their sample packs are really good in quality, but if you have a good ear and actually do analyze it, it really is obvious they just stole most of the samples from artists. Honestly, this is why i torrent their overprice packs, nothing wrong about stealing from a thief lol.

You Might Like... / Really liked this song that Showtek played
« on: May 18, 2016, 02:31:44 pm »
I really liked this song Showtek played in Manila a few months ago, but after countless of searching in the web i just can't find it. Is it an ID? i've heard the vocals used in other sets by other international DJs who came to visit but whenever i try to shazam it nothing ever comes up  :(
Help a brother out?

I was never aware that Kontakt had a sampler. Is it a certain library or is it already there by default?

Is the sampler any different from the one in Logic Pro X? I've tried experimenting with different vocal fx (mainly female ones since they always fit in nicely with any song) but i just can't seem to transpose it to sound like he does. I've actually noticed Slushii recently using vocal samples as synths too but he's FL and i have no knowledge whatsoever on how to use that DAW :c

Sound Design / Marshmello vocal synth?

Does Marshmello use vocal converted samples?
Like the one's he used for Blocks and Hello, i've tried creating something similar but i just can't get the same sound that he uses. Does it really depend on the vocal sample that he used or is did he create it from scratch (Sylenth1, Serum, Massive perhaps?)

Finished Tracks / Panda Funk - Pulse
« on: March 29, 2016, 10:51:09 am »
This was a track i started working on when i transitioned from electro house to dubstep.
Im still quite new to buildups and arrangements with dubstep so please be gentle.

PS. For those of you wondering, "Panda Funk? Isn't that Deorro's label?" this was a name i used in DJ gigs a few years back prior to before i started producing but i plan on changing it officially to Rylo Ken when i find someone to design my logo  ;D

I've been using cymatic's jack you vol. 1 drum pack a lot recently. Great for dubstep and trap tracks!

Hey Lydian!
Thanks for the reply, that's actually the technique i used to do.
Anyways that method is somewhat similar to the Virtual Riot technique but the problem is how to actually sidechain a sampler individually for Battery 4.
Having kicks, snares, hats, crashes and rides in it and then just putting a compressor on the sampler itself just doesn't seem to do the trick. Plus the internal compressor and buses really doesn't work as all as i hope i would.  That's the reasons why i wanted to try the Virtual Riot sidechaining so much.

Hey guys, this is my first post on this forum so please bare with me!

So i've been trying out a lot of different sidechain compression techniques from tutorials online but i have to say my favorite technique is Virtual Riot's.
Thing is, it's really hard to apply his technique mainly because he's using Cubase and i don't really understand how he does it.
I understand the part where he uses a kick (or was it a snare?) to trigger his sidechain, but what i don't seem to understand is how he routes it into his instruments such as leads, or even the drum sampler (I'm using Battery 4 just like him!)
Do i create a track stack for them or is there something else i'm missing?
Im using DMG Audio Compassion for sidechaining the same compressor Virtual Riot is using.
Any advice from my fellow producers is greatly appreciated!
