WIPs / Re: Who I Am - Almost Finished Progressive WIP

The idea is cool. But I think it could use a decent build up, especially durning the 1:00 to 1:05 part. MY advice would be to play around more with the automation of the pluck, to get the feeling your building up to something.

The part starting at 1:53 is dope! Reminds me alot of the old Zedd, which is a good thing! :) But again, I would say to try and make a better build up. If you work it out it could be very cool. Good luck with it!

I just used the vocal, not a big fan of the original, but I found that the vocal was sounding good.. Hearing it back now after a couple of days, part of the low ends are indeed missing. I've cut quite some frequenties around the 300hz because it sounded muddy so that may be the problem. I'm gonna leave it for a few more days, and then get back into it. Thanks for the advice guys!

WIPs / Re: "Falling Clear" -- My first song, advice sought!

It's actually very good for a first song, I really love the style your going to. The "Woodblock pluck" (or how you wanna call it) starting at 2:00 is a bit off place in my opinion, it doesn't have to be there for me. Just like the downpart, it's not in style with the rest of your track.

My advice: listen to some tracks from Fehrplay, Grum, Capa,... to get some inspiration to finish it. Don't worry about the mixdown too much, it will come later ;)

I completely disagree with the 'not in style'. MY advice: never try and conform your songs to a style. Be experimental and try different things. I think the down tempo actually works very well as a nice change of pace.

Fair enough, everyone has his own opinion :) As long as he's happy with the downpart, I'm good  8)

The leads can use some more power, I'm missing a few high frequenties imo. Nice idea though! ;)

Try ad some Sub bass starting at your break, especially at 1:30.

at 0:30, raise the volume of your clap sound. I think its a little bit to short to give some good advice, so try and work it out a bit more! ;)

Has some great potential! Like the rest, try to work on the main lead. Maybe by layering it and I would sugest to put a good reverb on it. Also I'm missing some punch in the kick, it sounds like it doesn't come trough very good.

Keep working on it, the idea is great!

Heey TPF!

I just finished a bootleg of Disarm You by Kaskade. I like the way it turned out, but I feel there's something missing in the mixdown.. I think I've heard it to many times to say what, so I really hope you guys can give me some advice! :)

Thanks in advance <3

Try add some more elements in it. To me, it sound kinda empty. The idea is cool though, but it need more work on the "design" if you know what I mean, keep it interesting! ;)

I'm missing some kind of sub bass. I'm listening with headphones, so maybe with monitors it's different, but for now I would say work on your bass some more. Other than that, it sounds cool, love what you did with the vocals! :)

I think he also uses a good Multiband Distortion Plugin, such as Izotope Trash
