Hi guys. I use fl studio to produce and I have a question related to parametriq eq 2 that im guessing it applies to most eqs. Some times when I cut low frequencies, the volume of my sound goes up, and sometimes it goes down (how it should be i guess). So my question is, why does the volume goes up if im cutting frequencies? I dont hear it goes louder but in the mixer the volume goes up like 3 or 4 db sometimes when im cutting the lows of a sound for example.

Im pretty sure that everything below 160-150 should be mono, but you could experiment i guess. Regarding the high frequencies, a lot of people tend to complement their kicks by adding hihats or little "toks", which may be in mono or stereo, it depends on your taste.
