R&A Graveyard / Re: Perks for dedicated users?

To me that the frequency range ranking is enough, the real nature of the forum should be people collaborate in a mutual way, everybody here is just trying share and learn something positive.

Hi producers!
I'm afraid that my question is not so simply but if you have some time, I would really appreciate read your thoughts, points, so...
I've been producing electronic music since 2009 but more seriously since 2012, but in someway I don't feel comfortable with what I'm doing as producer, which direction I should put my effort (I mean, take some genre or vertent mainly and make in my own way)
Since 2013 I've playing some gigs as DJ, and my main genres as DJ is Bass and House (Electro-House variations/Dubstep/Trap/DnB, general Bass Music, I don't mind about BPMs), as producer I have done some electro-house, dubstep tracks and stuff, but I don't know if is this line that I want to go, and my biggest problem is:
I listen lots of artists and genres that I like daily, and everytime that I hear some banger track independent of the genre (Progressive, garage, techno, trap, Breakbeat, whatever) I start to wonder ''and if I start to make some tracks like this?'' it's very involuntary and sometimes I feel that this ideas ruins my current productions, I start to lose interest in finish projects etc, it's very troublesome to me. Have you felt someway like this? have you already surpassed something like this? Please share you thoughts, I need some light, I still sitting in front of my DAW everyday trying do something, but that largest portion of these works I never finish, I've been running in this circle a few years already, particularly I don't think about quitting too soon you know, but I admit that it's very hard keep going.

Rules & Announcements / Re: about verification criteria

Case by case, there's a lot of members here that almost every electronic producer knows, at least by the name, so this guys that are influence and have the risk of have fakes, must have the verification account.

Give it a try of the main DAWs in the market man, was what I did when I moved from FL Studio to Ableton, and don't forget to take a look at Bitwig, that DAW is awesome too.

Yeah makes sense, all forums that I've participated in my 7 years of producing, the session of feedback in track is the same, no one gives feedback, constructive critics, but wants that everybody pays attention to your tracks, this system that the lazy users do that kills the foruns always  :-\

Random thought: There could be a function that allows you to put your skype name on your profile so others can add you and talk about techniques. Would help people who want to get in touch with each other speed up the process.

Yeah, sounds interesting, especially with people that have the protocol of introducing yourself first to add someone.  :)

I feel you more than I would,
I can write some positive stuff that don't work to me in this moment, but I know that is the best thing that I should do,
keep calm mainly if you don't lives of your music yet, don't put pressure that now that you're sitting in front of your daw you should do your best track or a masterpiece, but persist producing everyday even random stuff, keep this rhythm writing something, make some sound design and save presets, try different ways of start something that you want, definitely to produce well take years and if you see and hear some ''new'' producer in the game, be sure that he works hard a long time.

Hi folks, I searched quickly in the forum and haven't found a topic about contact between members of the forum who like to discuss techniques,
Ask for a more personal feedback, chat with multiple producers on skype, not to become someone's apprentice or mentor,
because few have patience to teach the basics, and I don't particularly, but mutual exchanges of information.
well I think you guys understand, so if anyone is interested let your ID and add the IDs of producers available, mine is: sirmedman

[EDIT] 01/11/2016
By demand and requests for a group, I think it would be a good a group chat on skype, so here it is:
https://join.skype.com/w9OX7RNgfz9B
Remember that it's not ''official'', and not coordinated by any of the owners of this forum.
Only with the purpose to talk, share experiences and experiments focused in audio production.

Sound Design / Re: What's your opinion on Presets ?
« on: January 08, 2016, 04:24:49 pm »
Well, between using a bass preset or samples of a bass stab for example i'm 100% with a preset, at least you can make some reverse engineering from this.

Sound Design / Re: The "How do I make this sound?" thread
« on: January 07, 2016, 01:50:47 pm »
Particularly this ''bass-house'' isn't my vibe but as a garage-head I really want to understand this bass sound, I'm pretty sure that is not so complex, but my attempts don't sound clear like this one, to me this bass sounds like some square waves with some distortion in an envelope, and of course compression and a 4x4 sidechain, some ideas my friends?

Ps* I have only a serum, sylenth1 and massive copy but should be enough.

Sound Design / Re: Intuitive Processing, Reflex Decisions, Good Habits
« on: January 06, 2016, 06:39:23 pm »
To me Eq everything is not a bad habit if you do it fast, but if you start to realize that you don't stop until sounds extra-perfect and you're losing your way is a good signal to be more moderated about this, I eqing all my tracks in the project but not in a surgical way, usually I just remove low frequencies (when is not sub bass, and kicks) and try remove some harsh and noises, and works well and I don't spend to much time in this, because ''waste'' of time I already waste in sound design haha.
