hey everyone! so over the past few months I've been honing my mixing skills more than anything I'd say. how is this song's mix? some feedback on the song overall would be nice too

Composition/Arrangement/Theory / main chord progression in "Beings" by Madeon

So i've started trying to figure out the chord progressions to songs i love by *mostly* ear. Last night i tried this with my fav Madeon song, "Beings", and i think i did a pretty ok job.

It's in F major and I'm pretty sure the main progression(the one in the intro) goes 4 -> 5(added 4th) -> 2⁹(missing 3rd) (repeat x3), 4 -> 3⁷(added 6th) -> 2⁹(missing 3rd)

do you guys think that's pretty accurate?

Composition/Arrangement/Theory / taking a music theory class vs. learning it on my own

so I'm thinking about taking a music theory class at a community college, but I don't know if that'd be the best thing to do. none of my idols(madeon, porter robinson, etc.) took classes for it. they just learned music by themselves. what do you guys think about it?

Hey everyone! so i've had Tannoy reveal 501 monitors for about 1 1/2 years now. lately I've been noticing that the left speaker has been rattling when sub is played, and there seems to be distortion(?) with the high-ish mids. this has just recently started happening, so any idea what this could be? is it time for a replacement?

Sound Design / What does a good transient look and sound like?

I've just recently started really caring about transients when making my drums, but I'm confused. on some of my fav drums(madeon's to be specific) there isn't a "transient" right at the start of the drum, but they're still punchy and clear. I'm just wondering what a good transient """"should"""" look like and sound like.

its basically the only main sound in the beginning besides the guitar. it kinda sounds like strings to me? I'm just getting really sick of using supersaws for everything haha. any help would be great!
