Yeah... I just reported the post. I suggest everyone to do the same.

If i were mod i'd get rid of it.
All...The...Time...
Ive found ways to get around it though, I can share with you a sequences I use to basically keep me from hating music...
Step one - Take a walk in the neighborhood. Get some quiet, enjoy nature, even if its late at night - the world is your oyster.
Step two - After you take said walk, cook up some food - not sure about you but I find standing over a hot stove and enjoying a good meal is as calming as meditation (maybe I'm just weird)
Step three - Make some coffee/espresso (drink that strong stuff) and actively search for the shittiest, poorly written and produced music you can find... think about why you hate it. This should both help your diminishing ego, and teach you a lesson on what not to do with your music
Step four - after you've analyzed some pretty bad music, listen to a few songs that really inspire you, and focus on what makes those songs appeal to you, along with their subtleties.
Step Deadmau5 - hopefully you will feel some level of inspiration now and can work on your song without being too bored. If not, at the very least you got some exercise and a good meal lol.
Me for example, I shamefuly like some Max Martin-ish pop. ...and it's nowadays variants. I'm kinda boyband resistant, which is pretty guilty for a guy.
Wouldn't it be nice to live in a world where we could listen to the Backstreet Boys guilt free? :-P
Huge Ween fan. You can learn a lot about song writing by listening to them
now I know I won't be spending on them a single penny.
Well, then you probably don't know Savanthe releases around 3 albums per year with songs of various genres ranging from country to moombahton.. check out http://origin.vinter.us/ , this is one of the most creative and inspiring projects modern producer/dj can do. He is the real hero
Not really surprising considering the fact he locks himself in his studio for 24 hours and comes out with a bunch of songs.
I second this. This guy is totally insane. ...in a good way though.
I really like some of the Sample Magic packs... their Synthwave pack is a pure gold! Also Capsun have some high-quality packs and Singomakers too, especially Main Room drums are great for some of that more mainstream house songs
I think my question wasn't totally clear. I know the difference between opinions and proper technical feedback etc. But in what degree do you care about opinions in this case? Do you care about if people like what you make, or should that just be a bonus? I was more looking for your thoughts on that, I guess.
Sounds like Decimated/Saturated Square to me...can be achieved with Sylenth easily.
@zau Thanx for this great post! I'm gonna try this technique. The stuff you write sounds quite familiar to me. My wife actually calls me a butterfly because I tend to get easily distracted...So I absolutely understand the checking the email, Facebook etc part you mentioned. On the other hand I can also get really focused. And some projects I can easily work for 3 or 4 hours straight without drinking or going for bathroom brakes. I basically just ignore my body. It's not something I want, I just get caught up in the flow of the project. I'm gonna try that app. Thanx again.
I find it really hard to let people listen to my music. I put a lot of time, devotion and love into it.How many finished tracks have you made so far?
