Have you tried using Flex Pitch in Logic? It shows the pitch of the audio sample on the piano roll, and from there you can adjust the formants and the pitch there. Though it's not as intuitive as Ableton, I find that I can get some nice results there better than any of the stock plug-ins for sure.
