Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Ethnic Wail/Melisma vocal samples
« on: January 20, 2016, 03:02:11 am »
Anyone know any places to get samples for these, including sample packs? Plus, if you know any free ways or sources, please share.

Basically, for those who don't know what I'm talking about, just remember those ethnic vocals in Gladiator.

Sound Design / Replicate this trance lead?

So I've been trying to replicate the lead synth in this song. I've given up. Anyone have an idea? I know the wetness of it has to be heavily compressed.

Cubase doesn't get much love anywhere I go  :-\

But that doesn't matter, since I use Ableton Suite.

Sound Design / Re: Pad Design Thread

For those who mentioned Paul's sound stretch, I concur!

For low pads I use a low supersaw preset from JP6K, slightly modified to my taste. KVR audio's Synthmaster is another great source of mine for pads.

However, if you're a preset guy mostly (nothing wrong with that), then I would obviously have to recommend Omnisphere and Nexus because of the stash of wonderful pad presets they have.

Well to be honest, none of the examples you listed are "supersaws"

They are more heavily wet arpeggio patterns with a lot of delay and reverb on sends
