Loving those drums bro. Also the modulation on the lead sounds sick, had me wondering if you could have even added a bit more subtle stuff to it!

Cool song man, love the fullness of it and the soudn design is definitely cool in the bass sections. You've done well  to fit so much in without overwhelming it or having too many clashes.

My main thought on improving it would be to try and get all the pieces in the drop to move together a little more rhymically around that main beat. But that might just be me! Even as it is now it sounds sick still.

Thanks!

Sound Design / Re: Using chopped vocals to create a lead

With a little bit of work, you can get short monophonic vocals into Serum's wavetable synthesizer. If you scan through the wavetable at a constant speed while playing a note, it will actually reproduce the the vocal sample. So by applying an envelope, LFO, or manual automation to the wavetable position you can get a lot of different articulations off the same vocal.

I've been tossing up whether to buy Serum or not for a while but this probably made the decision for me - Sounds like a really cool way to make subtle (or not so subtle) changes to vocal samples.

Sound Design / Using chopped vocals to create a lead

Anyone out there got some unique ideas on how to chop and process vocal samples to create interesting lead instruments?

I usually just slice a few pieces of a dry vocal and re-sample them to pitch them up or down. Lately I've been trying to reverse the vocal before doing slices to get more interesting sounds and thought you guys might have some different ideas?

In pro tools I have a separate file for each instrument/group of instruments - maybe 10 per song. Then I bounce these into a Master file where I will just have a couple of reverbs, level automation and my master chain. When editing an instrument in its own file ill have all the other WAVs load also so Im doing a blind EQ or making edits without an idea of how it will effect other aspects of the mix.

Really cool song man. Love the vibe and the fullness of it. Bass line is nice and Kick and Snare work well together. Mix sounded nice on my dodgy work headphones haha so must be alright!

Could have been cool if you mixed the percussion up a bit around the 2 minute mark instead of the fast kick and maybe an ambient reverse, reverb vocal or something could have been added to the background of the second chorus just to take it to the next level compared to the first?

But as I said, I really enjoyed it as it was too!
