Phorella i'm not sure if modulating the "CRS" directly relates to semitones as you say. I have analyzed the tone with spectrum in ableton and it doesn't seem to be a one for one match. i.e. take a sin wave modulate CRS +12 with LFO1 using a square wave modulating every bar. if you play C4 for instance you won't get C5 as the note that plays on the peak of that modulation. instead you will get E5 which is 16 semitones not 12.

Since all of Serum's parameters are based off of percentage, I cannot see a way to modulate pitch by exact semitones like you can in Massive.

Am I incorrect? or is the pitch wheel the only way to achieve this?

so i have been hearing this sort of sounds become more and more popular. i have not been able to find any resources online on how to produce this type of sound or even what its called; its got to have a cool name.

this mix by SKISM is riddimmed with it...

examples @ 2:59, 10:28, 31:30, 39:52, 40:45

so if someone could explain the basics of how this type of sound is created and the overall thought process behind it that would be shweeeeet. also what would you call this sound?

running ableton w/ massive & serum as my primaries.

much love
