Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Mono Maker/Stereo Widener plug in
« on: March 15, 2016, 09:00:00 pm »
Hey guys. Interested in some plug ins or advice/reviews on some plug ins that help make low frequencies mono. Looking for something with flexibility. I'd like to be able to adjust at what frequency things become mono and also something that could possibly widen some of the higher end frequencies. I have looked at Brainworx digital V2 & also Mono Filter by Nugen Audio. Mono filter looks like its pretty simple to use. I haven't used either but just watched vids.

Would appreciate some feedback on these or other plug ins to check out. Not looking to break the bank on buying anything crazy expensive.

Finished Tracks / October - Nico Hartt (uplifting trance track)
« on: March 01, 2016, 10:00:02 pm »
Finally finished up my 3rd track. Still have a lot I need to improve on but wanted to finish this one so I can keep moving forward and learn even more with the next track. Any constructive criticism is greatly appreciated.

Mixing/Mastering / Mastering engineers?
« on: March 01, 2016, 03:20:16 am »
Do most people mix and master their own tracks completely themselves or do some of you mix your track then send off to a mastering engineer? If so, what is that process like and how has your experience been with that? I feel like it'd be a good way to get a good master on your track as well as learn from all the feedback the engineer gives you until you learn how to do it well enough on your own to be happy and comfortable with.

How's the sound engine? Does everything sound nice and warm, full sounding?
How would you compare it to Sylenth?

Thinking about spending the money on aspire today.
What's everyone's thoughts about that synth?
Would love some feedback from you guys as oppose to just reviews you see online. Would like to get a feel for your experience with it.
I'm a beginner trance producer so I'd be using it for those style sounds.

WIPs / Uplifting Trance WIP
« on: February 10, 2016, 05:10:29 am »
I was able to put this together in the past 2 days. It's my third track. Hoping to finish soon and move on. Don't want to get stuck in trying to make one track a top charter when it's not going to be and just end up slowing down overall progress and growth as a producer. Thought before I mix and do some other changes and tweaks I'd post in here and get some of your guys advice on things wrong, things to try and just any overall constructive criticism. Hope you enjoy and I'm looking forward to some feedback!

Take care!

Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Your preferred sampler to use with Logic X?
« on: February 06, 2016, 12:10:57 am »
Sorry if this is a duplicate, I didn't see a topic on samplers.

Right now I usually either drop the file right into the arrangement or I use the Ultrabeat.

Looking for a better, or just other ways to go. I'm curious what samplers you guys use in logic and WHY you guys use those samplers.

Looking for something that when you drop a sample into it, it doesn't mess with the original sound of the sample (unless you want to tweak it and then would have the option to).

I signed up a few days ago and I love it!
Already Frankensteined some packs to use. I love how you can preview each sample.

No more downloaded massive packs just to be happy with 10 samples!

Really great for going through and finding samples that work for you.

I saw the first 50 people to sign up with this code TPF50, get their first month free which includes 100 credits.  :)

Hey guys!

I have a basic home studio set up. iMac, HSM80s, nothing fancy but have been trying to learn more about room acoustics and treatment in order to get the most out of the space I'm working with which brings me to a very short question.

Is carpet floors or hard wood floors better for the overall sound in a room, especially when it comes to mixing? Or is there really any noticeable difference in the way sound travels through the room?

I just checked this out. The code worked for me and I'm super stoked about this. Seems it will help a lot. I have found myself downloading sample packs just to find out I really only like 4 out of 80 kick drums. This is so convenient to be able to pick and choose which samples you want and with the repack function, you can frankenstein your own sample packs to suit YOUR needs and get the sounds you want.

WARNING: it's very easy to get lost in all the samples. I found myself sitting here for a few hours just browsing all the different samples and testing/trying things out.

Definitely excited about this and see it being a game changer when searching the internet for samples.

Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / What's your go to soft synth?
« on: January 15, 2016, 09:02:25 am »
With the vast array of soft synths available, what's your favorite or go to synth?
I'm curious as to why
Sound engine?
GUI?
Complexity, simplicity?
Certain features?
What sounds/genres do you like to create?

Right now I have been messing with Alchemy in Logic X.
I love Sylenth and am currently looking into Spire.

What's the honor count in my profile? Right now mine says it's at 3.

Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Best (your favorite) Kick samples?
« on: January 13, 2016, 02:45:20 am »
Hey, guys.

I know Kicks are one of the most over discussed topics, but it is after all the foundation of most tracks.
Curious where you get your kicks and what some of your favorite drum and percussion sample packs are.
I'm looking into getting the Dave Parkinson Trance Essential sample pack (link if you want to check it)

http://www.freshlysqueezedsamples.com/dave-parkinson-trance-essentials.html

I love the quality of kicks I hear in tracks by guys like MarLo, Mark Sixma, Orjan Nilsen, Gareth Emery,Markus Schulz

Some great quality, tight but big kick drums.

I know it all starts with a great sample but also how you use it in the mix and procress/EQ.

Also interested about other percussion samples you guys love!
