Finished Tracks / Re: Let's Imagine the Future (Deep House?)

Dude, vibes.

I dig the pad, I dig the sample, and I dig the progression of the track.

For criticism, I would say that the drop was a bit boring the second time around, even for something chill like this. Some variation in those little 'woop' noises may have helped that. Also (though it actually kind of worked), the kick was a bit too quiet in my opinion. I don't think it needed to be the loudest thing going on by any means, just a bit louder in the mix.

Solid stuff dude, I really like the style :)

Thank you for the feedback! I really appreciate it :)

I'd love to get some feedback on a recent track I finished up the other day. Don't hold back with the critiques

How can I make the bass from Four Tet - Back to The Start? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6bL4t2gUS4

any tips or tricks would be much appreciated!

I thought this was an interesting sound so I had a go at it. Fiddled in Ableton Operator for about 5 min and stumbled on this.
  • Run 2 Sine wave Oscillators in parallel (not modulating each other).
  • Slightly detune one oscillator (Fine = 68) so that the sine waves interfere with each other and you get that wobble.
  • Add feedback (12%) on the detuned oscillator.

Thanks, i'll try this out!

I've used my iPhone's Voice Memo and recorded myself while I was walking around at work for a few minutes. I exported it to Ableton after work and used a piece of it. It's a pretty cheap DIY way haha

I've made some atmospheric pad sounds by recording a chord on the guitar then reversing it and adding tons of reverb. I like the idea of side-chaining the reverb with the original and recording that to fill it out, will definitely try that next time!
