WIPs / Re: Progressive house WIP...

Yeah so much of this is out of key I'm afraid. Distracts from otherwise a pretty good mix, though the drop lacks the energy needed to make it really punchy and addictive like Galantis' music.

For-sure :)

However, there is perhaps a little too much mid in the vocals - it's hard to judge cause I'm away from home using my DJ phones' so not exactly the most accurate, I'll try remember to give a listen later!

Yeah with some more volume I think this could be pretty sweet. Maybe try getting someone to master it for you?

Personally it just doesn't seem to go anywhere for me. I think it definitely needs more layers on the main synth and some additional strings or something.

Nice master but I think the vocals would definitely benefit from some more stereo width and perhaps more reverb, they sound quite dry right now. Also, if you're careful - I'd try make them a little more crisp as well by adding some high freq (just not too much or they'll become harsh)

I'll have a shot and thanks for the compliments! :)

Yeah I'd stick with the claps rather than the snare :)

You're right - the whole track sounds much better now but the pella does indeed sound rushed :/

Catch 22 I guess, depends on what you're planning on doing it for - is it just for the art or are you wanting it to be popular amongst DJs on Soundcloud? That's the question which will tell you which direction to take it I think.

Oh and I noticed it before but it didn't bother as much, but speeding it up as made it more noticeable - the clap kind of sounds out of sync a little, eg at 1:20.

Thanks!

I'm working with the pella - though it's rather off to work with as, even with a tonne of reverb, it still sounds quite dry. I'll increase the prominence a bit so it's less drowned out :)

Hmm I think I get what you mean with your idea, I'll try see if I can get anything good to come form it - thanks for the suggestion!

You wanna post in the WIP section of the forum bro: https://theproducersforum.com/index.php?board=7.0

:)

Hey guys, new to this forum so hopefully done everything right - I'll definitely offer my feedback as much as possible, I'm a mod on a mashup feedback site (mashstix) but they aren't so good at helping with remixes and original music so I've joined here to hopefully advance my music  :D

Anyway, here's the link to my WIP remix:

Any and all feedback is most welcome - I can take harsh feedback (should have heard my first few mashups I used to make.. ouch!  ;))
Especially in terms of mixing/mastering, oh and ignore the end - didn't do an outro/ending yet.  :)

Thanks!

I'd up the tempo right away; I think it would definitely suit a faster BPM.

However I think the arrangement is pretty good, though adjusting the bpm to something like 128 will completely change the flow so would have to review it again, though I'm definitely digging this and hope you do up it :)

I think the track needs some more clarity; it could be soundcloud's 128kbps streaming, but sounds like it's missing some high end and the bass it perhaps a little too muddy - maybe try and reduce a mid/low peak somewhere and see if it clears it up a bit, otherwise I'm definitely diggin' it! :)

I'd shove some reverb on your vocals and perhaps some cool glitching/moving about the stereo image to match the pretty funky background instrumental.

Also feel it may be a bit too muddy though, in terms of the main synth - it kind of takes over the spectrum a bit too much I think. I'd perhaps play with the frequencies more to reduce a mid/low peak somewhere to make it a little more clear

Digging it though!
