Thanks for the responses! I guess it makes sense about the sounds considering they're preset :p . Definitely going to work on giving it greater variety, specially on the melody and sounds.

Came up with this and really liked how the sound turned out. Kinda curious as to how it sounds to people with speakers since I don't have any of my own. I tried EQing everything so it was more balanced.

The saw section in the middle could use some more percussion/fx. Seems a little bit empty and repetitive. Possible add some more chords. Otherwise sounds good, really feel the trance vibe.

The main melody is pretty good. I would say maybe add more percussive elements? Ones that stick out through the whole track. Blast those effects baby (not actually), but it could help glue the piece together.

I've been playing around with open hihat samples to get the sound but I can't get it just right. I'm not sure if it's a maraca sample or just open hihat with pitch/volume changes.

I know it's a pretty popular sound that's used in a lot of tracks, is it usually a maraca sample or open hihats? Or am I just compeletely wrong
