This is a post about writers block and not about ear fatigue.

One thing I struggled with for a long time is learning when to stop for the day.

I get started on a project ready to go and I hit a wall and everything just doesn't flow right and no matter what I do I don't like it.

I usually just hit the wall and then stop for the day or maybe even two, then I come back to it or just move to a new project.

How can I break that wall or is it even a good idea to try? My gut tells me to not try but what does everyone else do?

for me its a max of 24 hours and if it isn't done by then I scrap the idea and start fresh.

Composition/Arrangement/Theory / Re: Remixes

Remixes aren't meant to be a daunting thing and can be done in a number of ways but I will say for me my main tip is to,

start by just picking your favorite song and drag it into your daw, use it as a template, a map if you will.

Then take a audio clip of the remix stems, I always go for the melody and chop it up and pitch shift things, or I just treat it like a brand new track with some samples I got.

What also helps me is having a pre-saved template with my synths, eq and effects already to go.

Last word is to remix songs that you like, not every song is going to be to your liking and thats ok, sometimes its a good song but you just don't care to remix it, so don't force it.

And if you get irritated with where its going save it, and give it a day or so and start with a fresh mind.

Inspiration/Creativity/Motivation / Re: How do you get your own style?

Finding your sound is just basically doing something that you want to do in my opinion, something that comes from your mind and that you aren't copying from a youtube tutorial.

Producers go years without finding their "sound" and its all about your connection to music and your opinion of how a song should go, not whats hot or what everyone thinks is cool. If that was the case we would never have musical evolution.

Very nice intro and good offbeat sound that comes in, it really puts groove in the song. The drop is super dope, reminds me of a Paris Blohm like drop. Good work man! Got my support in the contest!
