You are hearing the synth output and the output from ableton.
Yes, but how do I make the synth output stop so that it only plays through ableton?

Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Arturia Microbrute and Ableton

So I've been having a problem for a long time now with recording live with the Arturia Microbrute, and I've scanned what feels like the entire web in search of a solution to the problem, but alas I have yet to find a solution that has worked.
My issue is that whenever I play the Microbrute live into Ableton, the synth outputs sound from Ableton twice, so I can never truly hear exactly what I'm playing. It's almost like a kind of delay, but practically instant, and constantly overlapping. I read something once about it that said it had to do with the local control of the synth being turned on? I don't know if that's true or not, and if it is that creates a whole new set of problems, because nowhere on the web have I been able to find a guide on how to turn off local control of the Microbrute. If anyone thinks they can help me, it would be greatly appreciated! For reference, I'm running audio out of my Microbrute into Ableton through a Scarlett 2i2 interface.

When the high hats and other percussion come in around around 0:46, try adding some pad affect or more atmosphere, using the same chords that are already being played. Then, right when the song ends add some sort of 8-bit / 16-bit / Videogame sounding synth with a new melody, AND if you're feeling cheeky, at this point change the chords slightly to give it variation with the new melody, but keep the same instrumentation.

I really like this though and I really wanna see where this leads as well  ;D
I rearranged the song a bit, and added a little warm pad, and I really liked the way it turned out, so thank you for the suggestion! I don't want to flood this thread with updates of the track, but if you really are interested in seeing how it turns out, feel free to message me, mane.

I think this sounds phenomenal. The snare sounds creative and fits well imho, but if you're going for a more punchy sound, layering it with a fatter 808-ish snare would give it that extra punch.

Something I think might sound neat on this would be to throw on some high-pitched, super-distorted guitar on the solo part that starts at 1:09.
A good reference for what I was hearing in my head is the sound that pops up at around 00:20 on this track: https://soundcloud.com/the-toxic-avenger-us/1-speed-original-version?in=the-toxic-avenger-us/sets/the-toxic-avenger-speed-ep

I like the song a lot though! Drums sound well mixed.

I started this track yesterday, and I've gotten completely stumped when it comes to elaborating on it. If anyone has any ideas on where I could go from here, that'd be awesome! Any feedback regarding production quality would be greatly appreciated as well, because heaven knows I could use it.

Snare rolls are A1, but I think the main drop snare could use a little more punch, and maybe a little bit of reverb.
