Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Xfer's Cthulhu: Cheating or Fair?
« on: March 28, 2016, 05:14:50 am »
I recently started using this plugin and although I think it's an incredibly powerful tool, I could see how some could view it as "cheating". I'm curious to hear what this community thinks about this. I think that this is a powerful plugin is because of the way it improves workflow when writing chords. It allows producers that aren't trained in music theory to get more creative with their chord progressions while also keeping everything in key.
I'd love to hear what everyone has to say about this. So what do you think, is Cthulhu viewed as "cheating" or just another great production tool?
For those that aren't familiar with Cthulhu:
Cthulhu is a chord memorizer and player. Basically, you select the type of chord you want and play a single note, and cthulhu turns it into a chord. It's also an arpeggiator. If you want to learn more about it here's the link to check it out: https://www.xferrecords.com/products/cthulhu
