I recommend users new to Bitwig to check out Brian Bollman's Bitwig Studio & Music Production Course. His videos are very long and comprehensive, and somewhat slow paced at times.

People new to production (with Bitwig as their DAW of choice) who wish to be guided step by step from the bottom up, and assuring they don't miss out on important aspects on the way, would benefit the most of his videos.

As a fully multi-touch compatible DAW, you might be better off with Bitwig (I read you were going to use FL) when going for a Surface.

I like that! I'll take that into account the next time I care update it. Instead of just add stuff, erase and replace what's already learnt and put into practice.

Awesome, may I ask what you named your different tabs?

NGHTMRE's Pro Session is so valuable philosophic wise - it lacks a technical aspects, thought he makes you think and listen for yourself instead of giving defined answers on what's right or wrong - which there is none of.

There is a lot of information that I write down pen and paper note style. I have recently begun to write notes in a Word document so I can easily Ctrl+F anything I need, and I'm in the progress of transferring all of my old notes and stuff to this document.

This is sort of a 'table of contents' for my document, however I have not updated it. Each sub-section refers to the topic at hand, name of the article I've taken notes on, or whatever. (It's really not updated yet at all)

Here is an example of what is contained in each Chapter

Awesome stuff Kenny. Simplistic and well structured.

Hi,

Dealing with the vast amount of great information here on the forum, reddit and other places on the internet, even with networking with people in person, I struggle with keeping everything written down organized and structured to be referenced to. To experiment and just start somewhere - I've created a notebook in OneNote with several subfolders. From composition, to specifics like "reverb tricks" and "delay tips", and "dealing with creative block", notes from books, written down which plugins I'm using including a link/button for opening one's manual. Just got an idea for making a shortcut to a link for a YouTube search to "X plugin + tips/guide".

How do you deal with all the notes you may have written down? Software/web based or physical like a Moleskine?

Check out Bitwig. Several of the top producers have endorsed it, like Deadmau5, Rob Swire, Feed Me and Dada Life.

Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Re: Bitwig

The first DAW I have really stuck to. Tried Fruity Loops back in the day as a child, Logic and had some fun with Ableton before stumbling upon Bitwig Studio around March/april 2014. Went a little back and forth between it and Ableton for a couple of months before sticking to Bitwig.

Brian Bollman's Bitwig Studio & Music Production Course has been of immensive help, and still is. https://youtu.be/ZXE8Br_xn-g?list=PLppiTGoCM2hK-iqNRJzdCdOaRHYWDncW8

This post would likely be better suited to the Samples/Plugins/Gear section of the forum. Cheers :D
Second this.

Sound Design / Bitwig - Sharing chains, racks, templates and so on
« on: January 09, 2016, 01:46:13 am »
Sharing is caring. Let us contribute by unveiling our presets and saved stuff inside Bitwig, to take advantage of the great modular echo-system their team are developing. I compressed my /library/presets folder then uploaded it to zippyshare.

Does anybody have neat templates for inspiration?
