Hey all,

I was reading a recent thread about busing and I heard several people mention how they route all their buses to a pre-master channel. I do not use a pre-master so I was wondering what everyone puts in their pre-master and what they are for. Thanks!

Sound Design / Space-like Sounds (like planets and galaxies space)

I'm on the hunt for sounds and presets/patches that sound futuristic and space-like. Even just some guidelines on how to generally make these types of sounds (I would prefer this actually). I'll list some terms and names of what I mean by that in the hopes that we can compile some cool noises.

When I say futuristic and space-like, I mean:
Nero
Daft Punk
Tron-like (very digital)
Flume (in some cases)
Haywyre

So like analogy, digital, ethereal, also sort-of funky, etc

Composition/Arrangement/Theory / MIDI vs Audio

Which do you primarily use when composing a track? I run into the issue where my tracks can come out very MIDI sounding (more robotic than organic/textured if that makes sense). I realize that it depends on the style and what your focus is for the track, but I would love to hear how people use MIDI and audio and the relationship between the two when arranging/composing.

I think that you should really just work with whatever you feel comfortable with and whatever makes it easier to take an idea in your head and shoot it out of your speakers, but I like to step away from my comfort zone and I'm not a Sith so I don't deal in absolutes.
