Inspiration/Creativity/Motivation / Re: Your inspiration for your name
« on: February 23, 2016, 02:35:29 pm »
Back when I was first getting into all of this, I decided I wanted a name based off of "Chill" lmao. So my friend came up with the name "Amoxichillin". After a year of having this I realized how dumb it sounded so I just shortened it to "AMOX" and it eventually just stuck with me and everyone else, I don't have a name change in mind at all.

I really enjoyed the song tbh, I was unaware it was getting hate bc of the vocals. I'm excited for the whole album, the sound he has going for him on this album is super unique and even more unexplored elements.

WIPs / Re: New DnB Track | Hows The Mix?
« on: January 13, 2016, 06:29:16 pm »
Like he said, the piano is a bit dry. The track has a decent atmosphere, but there are a few there are a few things you can try to improve to make it sound even better. Try adding more sounds (preferably some reverbed field recordings imo or another layer of pads or two), sounds a bit empty to me, and the drums are a little dry, but the idea is pretty good and the percussion is pretty nice, keep working on it!

I could name a lot of bigger artists that really inspires me (porter, madeon, purity ring, dabin, etc), but what inspires me the most, is seeing one of my friends post a new song and it starts blowing up. Not sure why, but that gives me more drive than anything in the world.

Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Re: Most popular/used plugin of all?

Massive will always be the "go to" synth for when I'm writing music, and I'm sure that's the case for a lot of people. It's pretty simplistic and you can achieve a ton with it. I guess a good way to put it is, since that was really the first plugin I started using, it's just grown so much on me that it's a natural default for when I'm adding a certain sound I need. Tbh, I am getting a bit tired of it though, I need to put in some effort and get familiar with more synths.

I feel like all semi known/known producers have a Nord Stage 2, I see it everywhere

Sound Design / Re: Burial Pads
« on: January 06, 2016, 08:24:29 pm »
Like they said, a lot of experimenting with reverb and delay. But my favorite thing to do with a pad to make it sound a lot more atmospheric is layering it with a field recording of some sort (also with a lot of experimented effects). I usually make mine by just playing around with effects over simplistic sounds until I create something that suites what I'm making.

This song has so much emotion attached to it for me. One of my all time favorites, I almost broke down when he opened with it when I saw him do a DJ set in DC. His new EP is really really good as well.

Trying to finish this project up, is the mix too muddy? Also any tips on what I should add?

Unbelievable, this is too good. That snare just makes me so happy, and that backing lead at 39 seconds is just perfect. <3
