The most helpful resources I've ever found on the topic of BEING a producer, (this includes, recording, mixing, mastering, marketing yourself, and more) are the "Handbook" series by the renowned engineer Bobby Owsinski. He has a collection of books full of a plethora of extremely helpful information that I would personally recommend to anyone.
