Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Amp Vs. Audio Interface
« on: July 14, 2016, 10:21:35 pm »
This is probably an insanely stupid question and I am sorry in advance... I just purchased the Sennheiser HD 600's I am aware they need an amp for the best possible use. However, I do have the Scarlett 18i6. Will this audio interface work in the same way as an amp would?

What's up everyone would love some feedback on this. I personally am trying to add another layer to the first drop but nothing works with what I currently have in place. I also plan on making the snare a bit fatter sounding. Please let me know your thoughts and don't hold back.

Here is a better of of explaining it....

"So for some of my pad/organ melodies when I input them into Newtone which is basically just this plugin in fl studio that analyzes the pitch patterns.  It gives an incorrect reading (or maybe it's giving a correct reading who knows at this point as I have been spending all day trying to figure it out) Anyway the melody that I inputted into the piano roll is D#-G#-D# however when I input it into newtone it says the melody is actually G-C-G. This happens with almost all my pads/organs. If I use a sharper sound like a piano there is no difference in the reading. Even if I enter in a bass melody there is no difference. Do you think the issue is just the pad/organ presets themselves? Are they already out of key to the point when I input them onto the piano roll as D# it is actually at G? Is that even possible?"

Hey guys! Really need some help here with this track. It is supposed to be in D#Minor I checked the vocals with Newtone and they are in D#Minor however the instrumental is not. This is very frustrating because in the piano roll I have the intro melody (pads) going from D# to G# back down to D#. However, when I bounce this to audio and let Newtone analyze it this is not the case. It goes from G to C to G (basically it does not go from D# to G# to D# like I have it imputed in the piano roll). How do I fix this? Is it a problem with the actual sound itself? I only have the incorrect reading with pads... if it is a sharper sounding sound (like the synth in the drop or even a piano) than Newtone analyzes it exactly how I have it imputed in the piano roll. In other words it is an accurate reading. Hopefully this makes sense if not I will try to explain it more. Here is the track for reference.

I have had this happen to me in the past. At the top towards the middle it will say "cpu" when you play your track does the number next to "cpu" skyrocket from say 10 to 80? If so the program is overloading your cpu and there are other programs in the background clogging up your cpu preventing FL Studio's from running smoothly.

Here is a link that will link you to multiple youtube videos that deal with the issue you are experiencing.

It's your song, your art I would just finish it if you dig it. Do it for yourself. I liked the drops I would just focus on your mix more.

Total Jamie XX vibe here I love it. Love the drum beat and the bass works with the drum beat very well. I'd say the only thing you need to work on is the mixing and mastering but I'm sure that's on your checklist later on. Really like what you have so far!

Link doesn't work for me :/

I would say work on the overall mix and mastering. Track itself is pretty good man be proud of it but the production could use a little work. Drop doesn't have the exploding feel like it should. Sounds just like the rest of the track in terms of power.
 ;)

I really like the percussion so far as well. Glad you enjoy it so far!

I do like the melody at the end and the idea that the track sounds like you are listening to a mixtape and skipping through the tracks. I would however work more on your mix certain areas could use more body to them. Other than that I'm diggin the overall vibe so far :D
