Thanks for the thoughts, I don't disagree with anyone. It's funny since I made this song I've learned so much more and can confirm that the low end was mixed incorrectly.

I'm curious/excited to visit the mixing + mastering sections of the forums, some day I'll just binge on tons of threads with a notepad.

For years I struggled with mixing and mastering. Even if I thought I knew it all, I'd listen to a "finished" track a week later and figure out the mix was garbage. I never understood how people without formal training could mix so well, like they were born with some gift....

I still don't understand it either. The industry standard is my worst enemy. But this one project came out great (luck? Who's to say) and even as I listen months later I'm happy with how the mix turned out.

I've moved on to producing hip hop mostly, so this is probably one of my last house songs for a long time. Thought I'd share it, feel free to critique :)

Finished Tracks / Goons (Amsel Remix) | My last EDM project for awhile

I usually don't make super heavy trap to begin with; I've always had a sort of "identity crisis" when it comes to producing. For so long I struggled with sitting down at a blank project and making what I was feeling as opposed to what I'd think would top the Beatport charts. As you can probably guess, doing the latter results in crap most of the time.

Anyway, a few months ago when I started branching out and making stuff I like, I made this crazy trap remix. The mixdown isn't perfect but it still gets me hyped.

I've moved to hip hop producing recently and I'm enjoying it. I listen to hip hop probably 90% of the time I listen to any music, so it seems appropriate that that's what I should be making.

If I'm really feeling EDM, I'll make it. If I've learned a single valuable lesson over the years, it's to produce whatever you makes you have fun!!

Thanks  :)
