Have you tried converse rubber tracks? Plenty of nice drum samples there.

It might be best to go for 32gb of ram unless you mostly use hardware, try PC case gear, they have some nice pre made custom computers.

3
Private upload on soundcloud and if it doesn't work out with the label, try sending it to youtube promo channels, you might get the attention of a popular label.

I would look at the old ultimate breaks and beats albums, great drums there if you don't mind sampling.

Sounds like there might be some interference, if you are using TS leads it might be better to move to XLR or TRS (extra ring.)

Make a list of what you want and another with what you need, different genres have different workflows so the equipment you will be using will change but the basics normally are a midi keyboard, a synth plugin and a computer.

JV-880: even though this is a piece of hardware it can be bought at plugin prices and it is quite fantastic.

Bitwig is fantastic if you do not want to use Windows or OSX to make music, I love using it on Linux but I am to attached to Live 9 to move over.  ;D

Hi Producer's Forum people,

I have an Iomega zip drive (100mb version) it connects with an ata connecter and I am wondering if anyone knows if there are drivers for windows 8, I would really like to see all my old samples again.  :)

Sound Design / Re: How did you learn sound design?
« on: February 26, 2016, 09:10:47 am »
I believe that the best way to learn how to make cool sounds is by just playing with the synth you are using. Also if you are getting an analog synth, go for one with plenty of knobs, they are fun to use.

How do you guys compensate for the loss of volume in your final master, or is the Loudness Wars truly over already and this no longer matters?

I would stay away from the loudness wars, some genres just sound better with some dynamics.
Then there is kick & bass, people just try to make that as loud as possible.

I would normally eq a little bit but I would like to keep latency low because it is fun to play stuff in.  :)

Have you tried just sending samples with the corresponding midi, that would significantly cut the size of the project.

I like to keep my tracks at around -16dB to -24dB, I learnt that from my cert 3 tech production teacher.
