ADAM A7X vs Dynaudio BM6 MKIII
« on: March 16, 2016, 10:59:21 pm »
So like the topic goes

I'm so torn between which one go purchase. I own a couple of ADAM F7s right now and I like them a lot, but I think it's time to go up a class.
I was listening to a couple of Dynaudio's today (although BM5s) and I loved them, very nice bottom-end and flat sounding, but with slightly harsh/exaggerated highs IMO.
The A7Xs was sold out unfortunately so I couldn't give em a listen. But I've heard nothing but great things about the A7Xs.

Anyone with experience of the two here?

I have a5x's, make sure you listen to the adams before you buy them as the ribbon tweeter is kind of unique sounding, people seem to either love it or hate it, I happen to love it.  I remember going from my KRK 8's to these - white noise never sounded the same. the a5's are very flat sounding but sacrifice sub, the sevens are probably perfect if you have the right room.

I've used the ADAM and Dynaudio, and many other monitors over the years,  that we've had in for review and evaluation.

If you're looking in that price range—and for that level of performance and better— you should seriously consider the APS Klasik.

Wow looks very interesting!
I won't be able to give them a listen, looks like they aren't in Sweden yet. How would you compare them to the Dynaudio BM6s?
And Dynaudio BM6 vs A7X? I'd love to hear what you have to say :)

I listened to the adams in the shop and they were bang on!!!

didn't have them in stock at the time though so I was depressed!!

Definitely next set of monitors I buy for sure.

Hi Johnmode,

APS is a boutique company. They do have distribution in Finland/Sweden, but these aren't the kind of products you're going to see stocked at your local music store.

The APS Klasiks are close to the Dynaudios in sound, except the Klasiks have much lower frequency response. The ADAM have a bit less presence, and are a bit smoother than the Dyns or APS. I don't feel the build and sound quality of the lower-cost ADAM monitors are on par with Dynaudio or APS. AX7 go to 42Hz. BM6 to 40Hz. Klasiks to 35Hz.

Honestly, in that price range, the Klasiks are pretty much eating everything else for lunch.
