i don't listen as intently to lyrics as i'd like, and i want to change that. who are some lyricists you enjoy? what are some lines and songs that stand out, and why? i'm open to any genre.

I really love Yoste's work and his lyrics resonate with me a lot. Chihiro is my favorite of his, it makes me think of growing up: "The air was cool and now it burns my lungs" is my favorite line in the track.

Eden's really cool too! His latest EP is a good listen, rock+roll had the most impact on me:

One of my favorite lyricists is R.A. the Rugged Man (Hip Hop). On his latest album there are a couple songs I really like, but Make You Famous and Still Get Through the Day are lyrically the best I think.

Hope you enjoy!

I'm probably just a nostalgic prick, but this kid speaks from my heart for a few years already:

...I'm dreaming about vocal collab with such a meaningful text one day. Imho lyrics with stories are the best kind. :)
"Earth is round right? Look at it from right angle and you'll be always on top of the world."
...but don't overdo it, because that's called being a d***k.
