Serum is my go-to "make a sound" synth, I use Sonic Academy's Kick as my primary kick sound, and I've really been liking u-he's HIVE for pads and arps lately.

You guys can review your favorite Synths in this section of the forum http://theproducersforum.com/index.php?topic=347.0 so it can be useful for other new producers before buying. Thanks! :)

Serum...hands down. Been recently experimenting with Razor as well.

I'm thinking of getting Razor, whats it good for? Or is it one of those synths that can do anything haha

Sytrus hands down. You can do anything with 6 oscillators and FM/RM.

I was just about to say Sytrus, as well. I've been using it for years, but I'm still finding new things to do with it, like, I've finally cracked the code on how to make lush pads with this synth. Serum is also good for experimentation, if not better in some aspects.

Also, Fruity DX10 is heavily underestimated; apply some compression and lots of reverb, and you're set for a kick-ass pluck lead.

sounds like there are alot of NI fans here. I prefer a few of the FL Studio native synths like Toxic Biohazard and Harmor and u-he Zebra. Toxic is kind of a cpu hog but it does great stuff :D

I tend to mostly use massive. I've had it for years and know where everything is at. My old DX-7 is also a beast, but currently in storage and a bitch to program.

Albino is good too, but I usually just use massive. I'd like to try out serum, sylenth1, and nexus2, but have a rule where I'm not going to throw more money at gear until I finish more songs.

Oooh, yeah. ElectraX is really cool. You can make some things in there that I haven't been able to recreate in any other synth

Ah i love the versatility and simplicity of sylenth, plus its warm-ish sound. I also have a lot of love for massive, i enjoy wavetable synthesis.

Sylenth1 is my go-to synth that I can use for anything, GMS is great if I want to make really unique sounds, and I always use 3xOsc for making simple sounds.
