Baby and Animal Sound Production
« on: March 15, 2017, 12:11:22 pm »
Hi All

I am new to the forum and don't know much about (digital) sound production ):

I am building an up that has 3D characters of babies and animals and I need cute and nice sounds; baby laughing, crying, feeding from bottle and also animals like Kitten, puppy and bird.

I know that open source some are available, but don't like most of them, not cute enough :). Can someone please guide me if these can be produced digitally without the need for live/real baby or animal?

Any help and guidance will be much appreciated - link to better sound libraries, or sound producers or software etc.

Thanks
Billy

Hey Billy! Sorry that things have been quiet, but sometimes that's how things are!

Regarding your question, there are ways to synthesize the sound but nothing very reliable or worth the effort. I think you should simply accept that to get good sounds, sometimes you're going to have to record them yourself or buy them from reputable sound effects library, like The Hollywood Edge.

In case you haven't check this out, I think you have a really good chance of finding what you're looking for here: http://www.freesound.org/

I was looking for a sample of kids playing and laughing for an ambient track I did and I found a perfect one on that site, there's loads of sounds to find there. Everything from windchimes to tiger roars. You could also download audio from YouTube videos (like a video of birds chirping) using tools that you can find through Google.

Hope you find what you're looking for!
