The Artist's Way
« on: February 10, 2017, 02:47:51 pm »
For any serious producer I would highly recommend the lessons in Julia Cameron's book 'The Artist's Way'. IF any of you have any thoughts on the book I'd love to hear them below, personally I found it to be a life changing read and really enabled me to reshuffle my life around music production. If anyone has any other techniques or insights don't hesitate to share them!

I've been writing Morning Pages, off and on, for about five years now. I know I'm more creative after doing them. Things flow more. I don't second guess as much. That creativity spreads to other aspects of your life. I recommend this book and it's exercises, not just for developing your musical creativity, but to elevate the joy you feel moving through life. Also, tend to your inner-child. It might seem like woo woo bullshit, but if you have a non-judgmental inner dialog with the most vulnerable aspects of your psyche, you're going to be amazed at what you're able to create. This is all my personal experience so, YMMV.
