Microphone Recommendations

I'm looking for a decent USB microphone with either a desktop stand or a regular stand at a reasonable price.

Can anyone give me any recommendations at all?

I've heard pretty good reviews about the Blue Snowball if your price point is around $50, plus it comes with a desktop stand. Haven't personally owned one but I know a lot of people have used them for YouTube commentaries lol

I used to own a $50 mic but made the decision to go up to an Audio Technica AT2020 and I love it a lot. Much better sound quality ($50 ones tend to pick up background noise) plus it's a USB mic like what you are looking for, except it's around $100 so it's a lot more expensive. I bought a stand for it (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DY1F2CS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and all in all I was a lot happier with the new mic than the old one.

So if you want decent sound quality, I'd say something like Blue Snowball. But I'd definitely recommend saving up for a higher quality mic (especially if it's for music) like the AT2020.

I'll give them both a look - might either get the $50 one now or wait till I get paid and invest in the more expensive one.
I'm sort of a beginner so the $50 one might do for what I'm doing currently.

there's other microphones that might be worth the investment while having versatility in function.

you might want to look into medium to small condenser mics, as they have many uses.

I'd also look into what type of micophone performs under certain scenarios when capturing audio.
